Goku is not monstrously big though he does have great size and instead hes just really really well proportioned and absolutely shredded. According to the super exciting guide goku is 62 kg and 175 cm which puts him indeed at about 137 lbs and a height of about 5 8 5 9. In the movie yo goku and his friends return goku is still shorter than yamchaa few frames show that he is at least 3 shorter but bulkier aswell. Goku could be between 57 and 59 but definitly not 60 or over.
At his height at the end of the buu saga goku could weigh over 200lbs or more. Gokus main western counterpart superman for instance is a solid 63. It certainly doesnt help that the anime portrays other characters like krillin shorter than they actually are making goku appear much taller by comparison.
